Compliance FAQ

Common questions about ITAR, EAR, and our compliance procedures.

What is ITAR?

The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is a set of U.S. government regulations that control the export and import of defense-related articles, services, and technical data. ITAR restricts access to defense and military-related technologies to protect U.S. national security interests.

What is EAR?

The Export Administration Regulations (EAR) are a set of regulations administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce that govern the export and re-export of most commercial items, including "dual-use" items that have both commercial and military applications.

How does Lance Aerospace ensure compliance?

Lance Aerospace Systems maintains a comprehensive export compliance program that includes customer screening, product classification, transaction monitoring, staff training, and detailed recordkeeping. We work closely with legal experts to ensure all our activities comply with current regulations.

Do international customers need to provide end-user information?

Yes, for controlled items, we require detailed end-user information and may request end-user certificates to ensure compliance with export controls. This helps prevent diversion of controlled items to unauthorized end-users.

How often is compliance training conducted?

All Lance Aerospace Systems employees involved in export activities receive initial training upon hiring and refresher training at least annually. Additionally, we conduct targeted training when significant regulatory changes occur.
